Keaton: Daddy, I have pictures of some of your favorite bands in my office.
Rob: Oh really?! Which bands are they?
Keaton: Dave Matthews and the Fire Fighters...
Me: The Fire Fighters? Do you mean the Foo Fighters?
Keaton: Yeah, the FOO Fighters. Silly me!

Little Gym Pro and Little Gym Rookie

If you've been a reader of this blog for more than a week, you know that Keaton is a Little Gym pro.  She's been getting her sillies out there for 3+ years.  This weekend our little buddy, Bryce, had his 3rd birthday party at the gym so we got to have some fun!  Jay tried out a few pieces of equipment and really enjoyed himself.

My New Hobby

My new hobby....as if there's time for this stuff.  But, this one only takes an "instant."  Sort of.  You may have noticed that some of the pics from my iPhone are sometimes square and vintage-looking.  Those are Instagrams.  I'm in love with Instagrams even more now after attending a conference a few days ago.  I sat in on a session with some useful tips so you might be seeing a lot more of these from now on.

There's a quirky culture around Instagrams so you kind of just have to join to get it.

E is for Elephant

Each week Keaton's class focuses on a different letter and on Friday you get to take in something that begins with that letter for show-and-tell.  Keaton LOVES show-and-tell because it means you get to take a toy to school and it means she gets to talk and everyone listens to her.

This past week was the letter E so she wore her elephant dress and took in Dumbo who is an elephant.

And, Jay is mobile.  He's not actually crawling yet, but he can get where he needs to go by various methods.  The roll, the scoot, the flop and stretch.  He crawls backwards, but we're pretty sure that he's only days away from really crawling.  I found him doing midnight chin-ups on the side of the crib last week.

Keaton Loves Sharks

Last weekend we went to the Georgia Aquarium with the Akrights and had a great time....at least we were still man-to-man defense with the kids.  Keaton and Bryce loved the fish and sharks and our little guys enjoyed the strolling.

Date Night

Over the weekend Rob and Keaton went to a father-daughter dance and it was "more fun than he thought."  Rob's words on the evening.  They got dressed up in festive Valentine's red and Keaton even got to wear flowers on her wrist.  She was thrilled to get flowers from Daddy!

Hiding on my iPhone: Random Stuff

January has been busy, but not necessarily with interesting family fun.  Here are some photos that have been hiding on my iPhone for a few weeks.  I'm not necessarily as good about taking our good camera with us on outings now that Rob and I are on man-to-man defense most of the time.  Less camera time for me.  We have a little weekend trip coming up soon so I'm determined to get some photos outside the house!
